08 Bim formed in Los Angeles in the early 2000s, started by childhood friends Jonathan Tyler and Anthony Randazzo. The group included Joshua Goss on drums, Melissa Palmieri on keyboards and vocals, and Daniel Masuda on guitar. They worked on their own for a while before getting much attention.
The song had a straightforward pop feel that connected with people. They followed it with albums like The Long Way Home in 2011 and This Is Your Life in 2015.
Some listeners thought their music could sound a bit predictable, but they kept putting out records into the late 2010s with Lost in Translation. The lineup around Tyler and Randazzo made pop that was easy to hear on the radio.
