1º Subsolo came out of São Paulo's underground rock scene. Their debut album 'Dias Incertos' arrived in 2009, with the title track becoming a staple on Brazilian rock radio. The band's lineup includes André Sousa on vocals and guitar, André X on bass, Pedro Pelotas on drums, and Fabiano Cambota on guitar.
They followed up with albums like 'Tarde Demais' in 2012 and 'Estilhaços' in 2017. Songs like 'Emo Sapiens' and 'O Verbo' show their tendency toward introspective lyrics and atmospheric guitar work, with Sousa's vocals carrying much of the emotional weight.
Some listeners found their approach too bleak or unconventional, but they kept making music that explored darker, more contemplative territory. They've toured in Brazil and internationally, building a following drawn to that raw, moody sound.
