1 Tyme formed in the early 2000s with Deanna Johnston on lead vocals, David Ryan Harris on guitar, Mark Whitfield Jr. on bass, and Kenny Wollesen on drums. They released their debut album 'When' in 2004, which included the title track that became their most recognizable song.
Their sound blended pop with jazz influences, particularly on their 2007 album '24 Hours'. They followed with 'The Other Side' in 2010, which explored more introspective themes. The band also released a live album in 2012.
In 2009, there was a public dispute between Johnston and Harris that threatened the band's continuity, but they reconciled and continued working together. Their music maintained a loyal following despite some criticism of their approach being too unconventional.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
