Archive material and source history
10-67 P.D.O.A. formed in Rome in 1978 with Stefano Conta, Gianni Maroccolo, Arturo Stalteri, and Fabrizio Simoncioni. Their name came from a police radio call-sign. They released their self-titled debut album the following year, which included the song "Dreams."
That first record mixed rock, reggae, and funk. "Dreams" became a hit in Europe. The band followed it with albums like "Scenari" in 1980 and "Viaggi In Tono Minore" in 1982, where they worked with electronic sounds and folk elements. Other songs from that period include "Fields of Death" and "The Lies."
They broke up in 1983. Their music, particularly the early singles, still gets played on Italian radio and has influenced some later artists.
