10 Seconds Down formed in Tennessee in the early 2000s with Stephen Johnson on vocals, Justin Jones and Brad Allen on guitars, Matt Webster on bass, and Will Squier on drums. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2004, featuring the track "Chilling" that got some alternative radio play. The following year brought their second album, "The Black Market."
In 2005, Johnson was arrested on drug possession charges, which briefly paused the band's activities. They also had legal trouble with their former label, Lava Records, around 2007. Despite these interruptions, they kept putting out records like "Take It All" in 2009 and "Sugar Ray," another song that found an audience.
Over the next decade, they released several more albums including "Something New," "Truth Be Known," "Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell," and "No Good Deed" in 2019. Their sound stayed rooted in that post-hardcore style with direct lyrics and plenty of energy in their shows.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
