100 Neurônios formed in São Paulo in 1996, with founding members Rodrigo Garcia on guitar, Daniel de Sá on bass, and André Fonseca on drums. They started out mixing rock with electronica and Brazilian folk elements, which made them a bit of an odd fit for the mainstream at first. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2001 and helped establish them in Brazil's experimental rock circles.
Over the next decade, they put out albums like 'Neurose Tropical' in 2004 and 'Sobre as Ondas do Som' in 2007, continuing to blend different styles. The band's lineup expanded over time to include members like Marcelo Yorito on keyboards and Marcos Kleine on trumpet, giving their sound more layers. They have songs like 'Overall' and 'Queimando' in their catalog.
The band defended their work, and they've kept releasing music since, with albums like 'Panamericana' in 2016 and 'Em Busca da Luz' in 2021.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
