100 Porciento Lucha came out of Buenos Aires in the early 2000s. Their debut single "Rulo Verde" gave them a cult following with its irreverent, raunchy lyrics. The original lineup included Nano Peralta on vocals, Ale Lacroix on rhythm guitar, Pablo Villalba on lead guitar, Pablo Martinez on bass, and Juan Manuel Ares on drums.
They put out a string of albums starting with their self-titled debut in 2002, followed by No Hay 2 Sin 3 in 2004, El Aguante in 2006, A Dos Manos in 2008, and a compilation called Lo Mejor de 100 Porciento Lucha in 2010. Their explicit material often drew accusations of sexism and homophobia, and in 2010 they were fined for using offensive language during a television performance.
Despite the controversies, they kept a loyal fan base that appreciated their unfiltered approach. Their music pushed boundaries in Argentine rock, and you can still hear echoes of that provocative spirit in some of the scene today.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
