100°C formed in Porto Alegre in 1998. The Brazilian rock band released their self-titled debut album the following year, then followed it with 'Mundo Perdido' in 2001. That album's title track, along with another song called 'Você Está Cercado,' are among their best-known work.
Their music sometimes drew criticism for its lyrical content. In 2001, 'Mundo Perdido' was at the center of a debate about suggestive lyrics, which led to some canceled shows and limited radio play. The band defended their approach as a reflection of reality rather than something to be censored.
They kept recording through the 2000s and 2010s, putting out albums like 'Planta no Furo' in 2003, 'Ópera Rock Gaia' in 2007, and 'Irreversível' in 2016. The later album showed a shift toward more personal material.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
