101 was a Finnish rock band that formed in the early 1990s. They released their self-titled debut album in 1992, followed by 'Aamuyö' in 1994. The group included Jussi Hakulinen on vocals, Janne Haavisto on guitar, Mikko Kiviniemi on bass, and Jussi Sirviö on drums.
Their song 'Aamuyö' became their most recognizable track, though it also led to legal trouble in 1995 when the band faced plagiarism accusations. Another song, 'Kissanainen,' which dealt with sexual abuse, drew strong reactions for its subject matter.
Over the next decade, they continued putting out albums like 'Tonari no Lilly' in 1996, 'Tule' in 1999, and 'Paikka' in 2001. They also released '101 Anthem' and 'Toisiimme Turvauduttiin,' which appear among their top songs. The band recorded a live album in 2004 and put out a compilation called '101: 20 Vuottaa - Parhaat' in 2012.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
