10nin Matsuri formed in 2017, a Japanese group whose name translates to "ten-person festival." They started with seven members and grew to ten, which is where the name came from. Their debut single "Dancing! Natsu Matsuri" caught on quickly, built around dance-pop energy mixed with traditional instruments like shamisen and taiko drums.
They've worked with other Japanese artists such as Saburo Kitajima and Yui Sakakibara. In 2019, member Nana Noda left the group for health reasons, and Hinata Akimoto joined later. Some of their music videos have drawn criticism for sexualized imagery, though fans are divided on whether that's part of their artistic identity.
Other songs include "Hello! Mata Aou Ne (Let's Meet Again)" and releases like "Natsu Matsuri no Yoru" in 2018 and "Sakura Matsuri" in 2020. The current lineup includes Akari Ito, Ayana Ono, Hinata Akimoto, Honoka Ino, Kanon Misaki, Karen Fukuhara, Saya Goto, Yuriko Okuda, Yuna Tanimura, and Yurina Hirate.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
