113 Vicios formed in Mexico City in 2003 around vocalist and guitarist Diego Suarez, drummer Ernesto Rodríguez, and bassist Alejandro Pérez. Their debut album 'Bésame Sin Sentir' came out in 2006, with the track 'Besos' becoming a notable hit. The band's lyrics sometimes drew criticism for their darker themes, but they generally kept to their own path.
Their songs like 'Brujerías' and 'Cansancio' carried a raw, guitar-driven rock sound that defined their early work. Suarez's vocals and guitar work, along with Rodríguez's drumming and Pérez's bass, formed the consistent core of their recordings and live shows. They put out several albums that gradually incorporated more atmospheric elements while maintaining their rock foundation.
Over time, 113 Vicios developed a following in Mexico's rock scene. Tracks such as 'Corriendo Atrás Del Colectivo' and 'Fugitivo Eléctrico' reflected their straightforward approach to songwriting. They worked within a familiar rock framework, avoiding major stylistic shifts or mainstream pop concessions.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
