13 Cassinos formed in São Paulo in 2016 around singer-songwriter Wladimir Garcia and producer Victor Mussi. They put out their first single, "Deixa Fluir," that same year, featuring R.A.V and Smoke. The track became a recognizable piece in their catalog, along with songs like "Firma Forte" and "Quantos Querem."
Their music pulls from samba, jazz, and electronic textures, with Garcia on vocals and guitar, Mussi handling production and synthesizers, Pedro Constant on bass, and João Gabriel on drums. They released albums steadily through the late 2010s and into 2021 with "Terreno."
In 2018, the band faced plagiarism accusations related to "Deixa Fluir," but were cleared after an investigation. Their lyrics often touch on identity and acceptance, delivered with a relaxed, flowing quality that avoids heavy-handedness.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
