14CMS formed in 1992 with vocalist Jerôme Vrijdag, guitarists Roy Kampschreur and Rob van de Loo, bassist Wam, and drummer Coofer. Their music was fast, harsh, and dealt with dark subjects like depression and suicide.
They released records like the 1993 EP 'The Decennium Tapes,' the 1995 album 'Van Haat Tot Haat,' and the 1997 album 'Ons Leven Is Een Hel.' Their live shows were known for being confrontational, sometimes involving violent incidents with the audience. This alienated some people but built a dedicated following.
Other songs in their catalog include 'Ach En Wee,' 'condoomautomaat,' 'Cowboy Song,' and 'De Kievit.' The band went through lineup changes over time, though Vrijdag, Kampschreur, and van de Loo remained core members. They were part of the Dutch hardcore scene in the 1990s and early 2000s.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
