15 Ways formed in Manchester in the early 2000s with Sean Hape, Dan Foord, Andy Pooley, and Ryan Smith. Their first album, "The Big Sleep," came out in 2006 and included the track "Drive." That song became their most recognizable piece, built around a haunting melody and introspective lyrics.
They followed with albums like "A Distant Land" in 2008 and "Conduit" in 2010, then "The Way Home" in 2013 and "The Water" in 2016. Their sound mixed electronica with indie rock and ambient textures, which some critics found too experimental while others appreciated the originality.
Hape handled vocals and lyrics, Foord played guitar and produced the electronic elements, Pooley was on bass, and Smith drummed.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
