16 Bits of Memory formed in São Paulo in 2007 as a duo of DJ Anderson Noise and MC Chayco. Their debut album 'Erro Fatal' came out the following year, giving the group its first recognizable track. The song 'Erro Fatal' and another early cut, 'H.T.M.L.,' helped establish their sound in Brazil's electronic scene.
Their music leaned into drum and bass and dubstep textures, with MC Chayco handling lyrics and Anderson Noise on production. The pair kept working together through the 2010s, putting out more albums and EPs without much fanfare outside their home country. They stayed a São Paulo project, not quite breaking through internationally despite some attention for their debut.
Over time, 16 Bits of Memory settled into being a steady presence in Brazil's electronic underground. They never became household names, but they kept making music that appealed to listeners who liked their blend of rhythmic electronics and introspective writing. The group's output remained consistent, if not widely celebrated beyond a core audience.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
