Archive material and source history
19 Norte formed in Mexico City around 2004. Their first album came out that same year, simply called '19 Norte.' They've put out a few more records since then, including 'El Dulce de Leche' in 2011, which shares a name with their song 'Dolce De Leche.'
Sergio Apisdorf and Jorge Soto were founding members, and Hilda del Rosario sang with them. Their music tends toward the melancholic, with songs like 'Hoy' and 'Nadie Sabe Nada' showing that introspective side. Some of their lyrics have drawn criticism for being too pessimistic, but they've kept making music that way.
They've played festivals like Coachella and Glastonbury, and have worked with artists from Buena Vista Social Club. Their later album 'Los Ángeles' came out in 2018.
