The electro-pop duo 1980 formed in the early 2000s, taking their name from the decade that influenced their sound. Christine Joynes handled vocals while Anthony Genn produced and composed the music. Their debut album in 2003 was self-titled and included the track "1980."
They released several albums that explored different directions. After their debut came "Anachronistic" in 2005, followed by "Future Perfect" in 2008 and "The Day the World Stopped Making Sense" in 2012. Other songs in their catalog include "Dilema Et's" and "Tentando esquecer."
The band maintained a private image, rarely giving interviews, which added to their mystique. Their live shows were conceptual and sometimes drew mixed reactions. They stopped working together in 2016.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
