1n54n0 formed in 1997 around vocalist and programmer Stefan Herve and keyboardist and producer Ariel Kalma. Their debut album 'The Ignition' came out in 2002, with cover art that drew criticism from some religious groups. The band's sound worked with industrial electronics and distorted guitars, and they put out several more albums over the next decade or so, including 'The Awakening' in 2004 and 'The Phoenix' in 2012.
In 2006, they released a cover of Metallica's 'Leper Messiah' that became a fan favorite. The lineup changed at times, with guitarist Loïc Fleury and vocalist Nathalie Lerner among those who worked with the group. They also collaborated with other artists in their scene, like VNV Nation and Combichrist.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
