1Round started in Brazil in 2009, put together by vocalist Roger Lyra and guitarist Henrique Menezes. They added drummer Bruno Silveira and bassist Renan Schumann to round out the lineup. Their first album came out in 2011, and the song 'Nosso Reggae' from their 2014 record Horizonte Infinito got them some national attention.
They've put out four albums, including Reggae Roots in 2016 and Além do Horizonte in 2019. In 2017, Lyra was arrested on drug charges, which paused things for a bit. Some of their lyrics have drawn criticism for political leanings that didn't sit well with all their listeners.
