2 A.M. (Freestyle) was an R&B and freestyle group that came together in New York City in the late 1980s. They had a lineup that included Alex Ortiz and Sandra Rosa on vocals, with Tim Dunigan on keyboards, Frank Rodriguez on drums, and Ray Santiago on bass. Their first album, 'Seriously,' came out in 1989 and included the track 'Anything For You.'
They followed that with 'Step Into the Light' in 1990. The group went through some changes in the early 1990s, splitting up for a couple of years before reforming in 1993. They kept recording through the mid-1990s, putting out albums like 'We Are 2 A.M.' and a self-titled release.
Ortiz died in 2018 at age 55. The group's songs, including 'Don't Say Goodbye' and 'One Night Alone With You,' still turn up on freestyle playlists and compilations.
