2 Basta was a Brazilian duo formed in São Paulo in the late 1990s by Fábio Sampaio and Ciro Barcelos. Their music blended MPB with rock and rap elements, which drew some criticism for straying from traditional genre lines. Their song 'Lembranças' became particularly well-known for its nostalgic quality.
They released their first album, 'Memórias de um Tempo Bom,' in 2003. Later records included 'Nosso Mundo,' 'Sobreviventes,' and an acoustic version called '2 Basta Acústico.' The duo's lyrics often dealt with themes of love and loss, which connected with many listeners in Brazil.
