Tauheed Epps, who performs as 2 Chainz, started out in the rap duo Playaz Circle in the mid-2000s. Their song "Duffle Bag Boy" got some attention. He went solo in 2011 with the mixtape "T.R.U. REALigion," which had appearances from Kanye West and Drake. His debut album, "Based on a T.R.U. Story," came out in 2012 and went to number one on the Billboard 200.
His music is mostly known for a laid-back drawl and straightforward, sometimes funny lyrics over trap beats. He's worked with a lot of other artists, from Lil Wayne and Travis Scott to Ariana Grande, as on the track "Rule The World." Another one of his bigger songs is "We Own It (Fast & Furious)," which was on a soundtrack for that film series.
He's put out several albums since that first one, including "Pretty Girls Like Trap Music" in 2017 and "So Help Me God!" in 2020. The work tends to be collaborative; songs like "Good Drank" feature Gucci Mane and Quavo, and "It's A Vibe" includes Jhené Aiko and Ty Dolla $ign.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
