2 Segundos formed in the early 2000s when four friends from Porto Alegre started playing together. Edgar Scandurra sang and played guitar, Markinhos Cordeiro handled bass, João Marcello Bôscoli was on drums, and Fred Castro played guitar. They put out their self-titled debut album in 2002.
That first record included "Até Eu Me Esquecer," which became a breakout single for them. The song helped establish their sound, which leaned toward pop-rock with straightforward melodies. They followed it with albums like "Embora" in 2004 and "Acústico" in 2008.
Their lyrics sometimes drew criticism for being outspoken, and they had to navigate the usual tensions between music careers and personal lives. They kept recording through the 2010s, putting out "Projeto 10" in 2012 and a live album marking 15 years in 2017. Other songs like "Outro Alguém" and "Promete Pra Mim" show the kind of direct, guitar-driven pop they settled into.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
