The 2 Skinnee J's came out of Minneapolis in the late 1980s, with Mark Mallman and Terry Katzman at the core. They put out their first album in 1992, followed by records like 'Gettin' Stinky' in 1994 and 'Skinneez 'n' Bonez' in 1995.
Their song '3 Minutes' got some attention in the early '90s. You can hear that straightforward, guitar-driven energy on other tracks from their catalog too, like '718' and 'Artificial Flavor.'
They kept releasing music into the early 2000s, with albums including 'Crazy Little Thing' and 'Raw.' The band's lineup included John Fields on drums and, for a stretch in the '90s, Dave Russo on guitar.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
