200 Sachen formed in 1989 in Finnentrop, Germany, with Rainer Fodor on vocals and guitar, Peter 'Fido' Herrmann on bass, and Stephan Rath on drums. Their debut single '200 Sachen' came out in 1990 and gave the band its name. That track, along with songs like 'Freier Fall' and 'Sekt zum Frühstück,' helped establish their early sound.
Their first album was called 'Scharf wie Chili,' released in 1990. Over the next decade, they put out records including 'Vollgas,' 'Anders,' and 'Nachtruhe.' Guitarist Frank Kappler joined in 1993 and stayed until 2006, when Bernd 'Berni' Lang took over that role.
Some critics raised concerns about the themes in their music, particularly around the title track '200 Sachen.' The band's later work touched on social issues, and they kept recording into the 2000s with albums like 'Gefühlsecht' and 'Bevor wir gehen.'
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
