20/20 formed in Los Angeles in the late 1970s with Pattie Bomalick on vocals, Bobby Rondinelli on guitar, Greg Kihn on bass, and Gary Phillips on drums. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1979 and included the song 'Jack's Got a Problem,' which got some radio play at the time.
They put out a few more records in the early 1980s like 'Breakaway' and 'Movers and Shakers.' Bomalick's lyrics and stage presence drew attention, and the band's sound had a pop side but could get pretty loud. Another track people remember is 'Yellow Pills.'
By the mid-80s they'd released 'Red Lights' and 'The Right to Rock.' The existing history mentions some backlash around the 'hair metal' tag, but that's about as specific as it gets. They were a Los Angeles band that made rock music with pop hooks during that period.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
