21 Chump Street formed in Pittsburgh in 1995, with Chris Rosenau, Scott Benzel, and Christian Pullella playing together. Their self-titled debut came out in 1997, featuring songs like 'Cousin' that caught some attention with their straightforward delivery and minimal arrangements.
They kept putting out records through the 2000s, including 'The Good Times Are Killing Me' and 'Real Emotional Trash'. The trio handled vocals among themselves, with Rosenau on guitar, Benzel on bass, and Pullella on drums. Their catalog also includes tracks such as 'What The Heck I Gotta do' and 'The Money'.
By 2010, the band had stopped working together. Their recordings from that Pittsburgh period still turn up for listeners who come across them.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
