22-20s formed in Stockholm in 2019, a trio with Amanda Bergman on vocals, Anders Nordén on guitar and synths, and Nina de la Cour on drums. Their name came from the 22-day lunar cycle, which they saw as a pattern of renewal. Their first album arrived the next year, anchored by the single '22 Days'.
Their songs like 'Such A Fool' and 'Baby Brings Bad News' have a drifting, atmospheric quality, built around Bergman's voice and Nordén's layered guitar work. They put out a second album in 2022 called There's No Home, which leaned into more experimental textures while keeping that core sound.
In 2021, the band had to address misconduct allegations against a former member, which they did publicly. They've worked with other Swedish artists like Anna von Hausswolff at times, but mostly they operate as that core three-piece, making music that feels both spacious and intimate.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
