220 Voltios formed in Buenos Aires in 1983 with Miguel Mateos on vocals, Eduardo "Pedo" Beovide on guitar, Pablo Guyot on bass, and Alejandro "Pájaro" Gómez on drums. Their name came from the standard electrical voltage in Argentina, which gave a hint at the kind of energy they were aiming for. They put out their first album, "No Te Dejes Engañar," the following year.
They kept releasing albums through the decade, like "Los Argentinos" in 1985 and "Destrucción" in 1987. The title track from that later album, "Destrucción," became one of their best-known songs, along with others like "Días de Gloria" and "Nada me Detendrá."
The band called it quits in 1998. After that, Miguel Mateos started working on his own material as a solo artist.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
