24 Grana formed in Naples in 2004, a trio working with rap and Neapolitan folk. Their early material came from the city's streets, and by 2010 they had a breakthrough with the single 'E Kose Ka Spakkano.' That track, along with others like '1799' and 'A' Cascia,' helped build a following, particularly among younger listeners in their hometown.
The group's core members are Ninja, D-Ross, and Pisti. Ninja handles most of the vocals and lyrics, D-Ross produces the beats, and Pisti adds harmonies. Their sound pulls from local tradition and contemporary rap, a mix that drew attention and some criticism for its direct language and themes. They've put out seven studio albums and worked with other Italian rappers including Marracash, Gué Pequeno, and Clementino.
Their music often deals with life in Naples, and the response to it has been divided. Some listeners connected strongly to what they were saying, while others questioned their approach. The band kept making records, sticking to their blend of styles and the subjects they knew.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
