270Bis formed in Mexico City in 2005 with Andres "Fede" Vázques on vocals, Sergio "Cheko" Acosta on drums, Javier "Javierín" Blake on bass, and Yayo González on guitar. They put out their self-titled debut album in 2007, which got them noticed locally for a sound that mixed rock and reggae with Latin rhythms.
Their second album, "Smoking," came out in 2010 and included the track "Masha." That record helped build their audience beyond Mexico, and they toured through Latin America, Europe, and the United States. The band's lyrics sometimes touched on social and political topics, which drew both fans and critics.
In 2012, they faced a plagiarism accusation over their song "Bailar," though they were later cleared. They've kept releasing albums, including "Chango" in 2013, "Siempre Es Hoy" in 2016, and "Reflexiones" in 2019. The lineup eventually added percussionist Alan "Alacrán" Ramírez.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
