290ml formed in São Paulo in the early 2000s, with Alexandre Carlo on vocals and guitar, Marcelo Tofani on bass, Andre Abujamra on keyboards, and Paulo Bortolotti on drums. They put out their self-titled debut album in 2002, which mixed pop with Brazilian rhythms like samba and bossa nova.
Their song 'Por Ti Não Sofro Mais' became a hit in Brazil, topping charts and getting them wider attention. They followed it with albums like '375ml' in 2004, '500ml' in 2007, '750ml' in 2009, and '1L' in 2012.
In 2010, some fans criticized the band for allegedly using playback during a live show, which led to a temporary boycott. They kept touring and recording afterward.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
