2be3 was a French boy band that formed in 1996, made up of Filip Nikolic, Adel Kachermi, and Frank Delay. They had some success in the late 1990s with songs like 'Excuse My French' and 'Partir un jour,' which topped the French charts. Their music mixed pop with R&B and hip-hop touches, and they released albums including 'Partir un jour' in 1997 and '2be3' the following year.
Filip Nikolic's struggles with addiction and depression were part of the story, and in 2001 a sex scandal involving Nikolic and a young fan hurt their public image. The band broke up in 2002. Nikolic later wrote an autobiography about his addiction issues before dying from a drug overdose in 2009.
After the split, Adel Kachermi worked as a songwriter and producer, while Frank Delay moved into acting and television hosting. Their songs like 'Donne' and 'Elle rêvait' still get played occasionally, but the group's time together was relatively short.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
