2Drop formed in Salvador, Brazil in 2004 around singer and guitarist Rafael Pondé and percussionist Luciano Oliveira. Their debut album 'Tudo de Bom' came out in 2007, and they've been making reggae music with Brazilian touches since. Oliveira left the band in 2008, and Pondé brought in drummer Jadson Cruz and bassist Filipe Barros to keep things going.
Their song 'O que eu sinto' became a signature track, and they've put out albums like 'Eu Sou o Reggae' in 2010 and 'Reggae de Verdade' in 2017. Other songs in their catalog include 'Agamenon', 'Agora Chega', and 'Harmônia'. The current lineup includes Pondé, Cruz, Barros, keyboardist Maurício Almeida, and percussionist Tulio Souza.
In 2013, their song 'Um Grito de Liberdade' drew some criticism from conservative groups for its lyrics about police brutality. They've worked with other artists too, like Brazilian pop singer Ivete Sangalo on 'Não Deixe o Amor Morrer' and reggae musician Alpha Blondy on 'Stand Up'.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
