2LMC, short for La Leyenda del Monte Carmelo, formed in Buenos Aires in the late 1980s. The band was led by León Gieco, with Rodolfo García on bass and Mario "Pájaro" Gómez on drums. They released about ten studio albums, starting with "4000 Vientos" in 1988 and including "Tangos" in 1990 and "Siglo de Viento" in 2001.
Their music mixed folk and rock with Latin rhythms, and Gieco's lyrics often touched on social issues. The song "Laico-Americano" became one of their better-known tracks.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
