2nd Chapter of Acts was a Christian vocal group formed in the early 1970s around the siblings Annie Herring, Nelly Greisen, and Matthew Ward. Their sound was built on close family harmonies, with Annie handling most of the songwriting and Matthew often taking lead vocals. They gained attention through performances at the Explo '72 youth gathering and on Pat Boone's television show.
Their 1974 debut album "With Footnotes" included the song "Which Way the Wind Blows," which became one of their best-known tracks. Other songs like "Are you goin' to Narnia?" and "Aslan Is Killed" reflected their interest in C.S. Lewis's Narnia stories. They recorded throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, working with producer Buck Herring, Annie's husband.
The group stopped performing regularly in the mid-1980s, though members continued individual music ministries. Their recordings remain familiar to many who grew up with contemporary Christian music in that era, particularly for their distinctive vocal blend and straightforward lyrical approach.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
