2nd II None was a hip-hop trio from New York City formed in 1991, consisting of DJ Fingaz, Monie Love, and Father MC. Monie Love had already been working as a solo artist before the group came together. Their debut album '2nd II None' came out that same year, followed by 'Classic 220' in 1994.
The track's use of police sirens led to some legal trouble with the New York Police Department. Other songs from their catalog include '2 Skanless,' 'Be True To Yourself,' and 'Make 'em Understand.'
They put out two more albums after that - 'Evolution' in 1996 and 'The Original 2nd II None' in 2004. 'Up in Da Club' still turns up at parties years later.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
