2NS is a Brazilian pop-rock band that started in the early 2000s. The name is pronounced "dois nós," which refers to the two founding members, Felipe Simas and Frederico Saggese. Their early work had acoustic guitars and ethereal vocals, with lyrics that sometimes touched on social and political issues.
In 2006, Saggese left the band due to creative differences. Simas kept going, and new members like guitarists Bruno Gouveia and Rodrigo Melim joined around that time. Their song "Simplesmente Música" faced some backlash from religious groups who thought it was too secular, but the band kept playing it anyway.
They put out their first album, "2NS," in 2003. Later records included "Simplesmente Música" in 2006, "A Vida Que Eu Quero" in 2009, and "Pra Toda Vida" in 2014. The sound shifted a bit over those years, picking up more pop and folk touches alongside the rock.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
