2.R.P.F. formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1998, with founding members Falcão, Magrão, and MC Ronaldo. The name stands for 'Rapazinhos Rápidos do Funk,' and their music pulls from funk carioca, hip-hop, and Brazilian popular styles. Their debut album '2.R.P.F. Explode' came out in 2002 and included the track '24 Horas,' which became one of their most recognizable songs.
In 2013, a concert in Salvador was canceled after protests over their depiction of police brutality. They followed up with albums like 'Pegada Bruta' in 2004 and 'Som do Povo' in 2012.
Other songs like 'A Ti Levar A Mim,' 'Não Quero Mais,' and 'Retratos' show their range within that funk and hip-hop blend. They've kept performing with a live energy that connects with audiences in Brazil.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
