2wOng formed in Mexico City in the early 2000s around brothers Abraham and Oswaldo Rodríguez, with vocalist Elyssa Maldonado and drummer Juan Carlos. They started making Christian music that mixed pop and rock elements, releasing albums like "Y Te Alabaré," "El Gran Yo Soy," and "Todo Es Posible."
Their song "Mi Buen Pastor" came out in 2005 and became widely known, reaching listeners beyond their initial audience. In 2010, there were accusations that the song resembled work by another Mexican group, which the band denied. Later, around 2015, Abraham and Oswaldo Rodríguez faced separate allegations about financial matters.
Through these periods, 2wOng kept performing and recording. Their music, anchored by tracks like "Mi Buen Pastor," maintained a following in Latin American Christian circles.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
