3 Arcodes formed in Fortaleza, Brazil in the early 2000s. The band's lineup included Marcos "Marcão" André on vocals and guitar, André "Desbaste" Albuquerque on bass, and Thiago "Zéca" Oliveira on drums. Their sound pulled from punk and metal, but also worked in rhythms from Brazilian styles like forró and maracatu.
Their song "Punk Lampião" reinterpreted the story of a famous Brazilian outlaw and sparked some debate when it came out. Other tracks like "Não Quero Ir" and "Se Vira Nos Trinta" carried that same raw, confrontational energy. They released their self-titled debut in 2004, followed by albums like A Dança dos Macacos in 2007 and A Era da Besta in 2010.
Later records included Sangue Cowboy in 2014 and O Mundo É Nosso in 2018. The band developed a loyal following in Brazil for their unpolished sound and rebellious stance, often playing with a direct, energetic style that felt closer to a live show than a studio production.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
