3 Chongsa formed in 2012 as a K-pop trio led by vocalist Guk Joo-yeon, with Choi Seong-yeol on guitar and Kang Da-hyun on drums. Their debut single "Babo Gateun Nae Sarang" (also known as "My Love Is Foolish") came out that same year and found an audience with its straightforward take on unrequited love.
They followed with a few more singles over the next couple years, including "Love Me Like That" in 2013 and "Time to Say Goodbye" in 2014. In 2014, Guk Joo-yeon had vocal cord issues that caused some concert postponements. The next year brought plagiarism allegations about one of their songs, which the band denied, and dating rumors among members that were never confirmed.
They released "Only You" in 2015. The group's music leaned toward emotive melodies and ballads, with Guk Joo-yeon's voice being a central feature. They had a fanbase during their active years in the early to mid-2010s.
