3 Inches of Blood formed in Vancouver in 1999 with Jamie Hooper on vocals, Justin Hagberg and Shane Clark on guitars, Ash Pearson on bass, and Nick Cates on drums. Their first release was the EP 'Sect of the White Worm,' which came out in the early 2000s. They followed it with their debut album 'Battlecry Under a Wintersun' in 2002.
Over the next decade, the band put out four more studio albums: 'Advance and Vanquish' in 2004, 'Fire Up the Blades' in 2007, 'Here Waits Thy Doom' in 2009, and 'Long Live Heavy Metal' in 2012. Their songs like 'Deadly Sinners' and 'Destroy The Orcs' mixed thrash metal with melodic elements. The lineup shifted at times, but Hagberg, Hooper, and Pearson stayed through most of it.
They kept playing shows and recording until going on hiatus around 2015. Their last album was 'Long Live Heavy Metal' in 2012.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
