3 Seconds to Short came out of San Francisco in the late 1980s. The band had Steve Williams on vocals and guitar, Mike Smith on bass, and Mike Booth on drums. They put out their first album in 1988.
Their 1990 album '87th and Nowhere' gave the band its name in punk circles. The title track became a familiar one on playlists. The record also included songs like 'All Along' and 'Kung Fu Grip'.
They kept releasing albums through the early 1990s, including 'Four Seconds to Short' in 1992 and 'Three Seconds to Short' in 1994. The band broke up sometime in the mid-1990s. They got back together for a show in 2018 and put out a live album that year.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
