3 Speed was a Vancouver trio from the late 1970s, with Johnny Martin on vocals and guitar, Mark Dunn on bass, and Greg Ball on drums. They played a kind of power pop and new wave that found an audience in their hometown.
In 1981 they put out a self-titled debut album that included 'Once Bitten.' That song got some real traction, enough to make it onto charts in a few places. It was the kind of track that stuck with people.
They kept at it for a few more years, releasing albums like 'Acceleration' in 1982 and 'Static' in 1983. The band had some internal issues and took a break after that. Their music, especially 'Once Bitten,' still gets played here and there.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
