3 Trocos formed in São Paulo's Vila Madalena neighborhood in 1983, with Nando Reis on vocals and guitar, Felipe Viegas on bass, and Walter Villaça on drums. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1985 and included 'Susan,' a song that became widely known in Brazil. The track '1966' also appeared on that record.
Felipe Viegas left the band in 1987 and was replaced by Marcelo Nova, whose arrival coincided with a shift toward a heavier rock sound. They released albums like 'O Menino Bomba' in 1987 and 'A Revolta dos Dândis' in 1989. Other songs from their catalog include 'Barbecue,' 'Blades,' and 'Just Like This City.'
The group was associated with the Vanguarda Paulista movement in São Paulo, which had experimental leanings. They disbanded in 1991. Afterward, Nando Reis pursued a solo career, Marcelo Nova formed Camisa de Vênus, and Walter Villaça continued drumming with various projects.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
