3 Um Só formed in Rio de Janeiro in the early 1990s with Bernardo Barreiros on vocals and guitar, Sergio Souto on bass, and Alexandre Oliveira on drums. They released four studio albums between 1994 and 2001, starting with their self-titled debut that included the song 'Bob Voltou.'
'Bob Voltou' came out in 1994 and became widely known in Brazil. The title translates to 'Bob is Back,' and the song's mix of samba, rock, and reggae rhythms gave it an immediate, catchy feel. Other tracks like 'Viva o Seu Melhor' and 'Apostador' showed Barreiros writing lyrics that touched on both personal reflection and broader social themes.
Their music sometimes drew attention for its social commentary, but they kept recording through the late '90s. The band's last album, 'Só,' arrived in 2001.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
