Archive material and source history
30footFALL formed in North Carolina in the early 2000s with Joshua Albanese on vocals, Matthew Batson and Derek Garcia on guitars, Jimmy Hagerman on bass, and Zach Buckner on drums. Their debut album 'The Legend of Deadhead' came out in 2003, followed by 'A New Reality' in 2005. The song 'Attack of the Flaming Egos' from that second album got some attention.
Albanese's lyrics often dealt with personal struggles, and his substance abuse issues became part of the conversation around the band. They faced a lawsuit after a fan died following one of their concerts, though they were cleared of wrongdoing. The band kept releasing albums through the years, including 'Collisions' in 2007 and 'Symbols' in 2010.
They put out 'Stories of Ghosts' in 2013, 'Exiles' in 2016, and 'The Calm Before the Storm' in 2020. Another track people know is 'Bad Hair Day Punx.' The lineup has seen changes, but those original five members are considered the core of the group.
