312 Brasil is a pop-rock band from São Paulo that formed in the early 2000s. Their name comes from the 312 area code in Chicago, which they chose as a reference to some of their musical influences. The original lineup included Deco on vocals, Vini on guitar, Gustavo on bass, and Daniel on drums.
They broke through in 2003 with their debut single "Tudo Mudou," which became a major hit in Brazil. That same year they released their self-titled debut album, which included other tracks like "A Fórmula" and "Não É Tarde." Later songs like "Luzes Acesas" and "Dela" also became part of their catalog.
In 2005 they had to change their name to 312 Brasil due to a legal dispute over song rights. They've released several albums since then, including Conectados in 2007, A Festa in 2010, Casa in 2015, and Estrada in 2020. The lineup has remained consistent with Deco, Vini, Gustavo, and Daniel.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
