33 Brasa formed in São Paulo in 2010 with vocalist Zé Cafofinho, guitarist Leandro "Léo" Maia, bassist Marcelo "Marcelão" Garcia, drummer Guilherme "Gui" Bellon, and keyboardist Pedro "Pedrão" Saias. Their breakout single "4 Elementos" became an instant sensation, propelling them to national recognition with a sound that blended funk carioca, soul, and Afro-Brazilian rhythms.
Their lyrics often contained social commentary and political critique, which drew criticism from conservative groups.
Despite these challenges, they continued releasing music including their debut album "33 Brasa" and subsequent albums "A Cura" and "Nosso Santo Baile." Keyboardist Pedro "Pedrão" Saias left in 2016 and was replaced by Victinho Campos, with the current lineup maintaining the core members from their formation.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
